Welcome to the Robberg Shacks Conservation Group

The Robberg Shacks Conservation Group is a non-profit section 21 company established to support the rebuilding and restoration of the two historic fishing shacks on the Robberg Peninsula, Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa.

After several years of campaigning and advocacy, agreement has been reached with the Cape Nature Conservation Board (“Cape Nature”), the administrators of Robberg, that the shacks should be rebuilt and maintained for use by the public as overnight shelters, for fishermen and nature-lovers alike.

The current challenges facing the RSCG are:

  • To prepare designs and specifications for the shacks that will ensure that they remain assets for the public for decades to come
  • To raise the necessary funds to pay for the rebuilding and restoration project

The Robberg Shacks Conservation Group (RSCG) is an association not for gain incorporated in terms of section 21 of the Companies Act, 61 of 1973 under registration number 2004/033447/07.

The directors of RSCG are Ate Bos, Alastair Grant, PJ Hope, Derek Hume, Derrick Philander, Maggie Ubsdell, Mike Wells.
